We have put together a collection of photos of dingoes
hopefully showing the difference between each variety , understanding dingoes are different depending on their geographical place of origin.
We would also hope we can educate the uneducated on the different varieties of dingoes.
We would also state while we accept opinions will differ and we welcome opinions , we would ask that you do your research .
We would also request “respect “, if you have an axe to grind grind that axe else where .
We would appreciate you do not incite hatred, anger, doubt and unnecessary concern in the minds of those who have little or no knowledge on the dingo, causing the ignorant and uneducated to harass and annoy ,whereby we must endure phone calls from said people .[ all private and unknown numbers]
When using words EMACIATED and PROFESSIONAL again I request you are well informed before you make such unwarranted uneducated statements with intent to incite anger
Do not undermine my intelligence.
Do not undermine my knowledge
Do not undermine my 40 + years of experience working with WA wild born dingo
TAKE NOTE , wild life vet attended for the benefit of those concerned, all dingoes in our care are healthy , lively, bright well cared for.
On a personal level one would question the severe lack of integrity and perhaps a degree of narcissism , seriously ill informed with intent to cause harm .
You will notice the difference between Arana Wild born Kimberly girl and Mirrhi alpine desert cross [domestic bred].
Arana is slightly built, small statue and at age 5 weighs 11.5 kilo , she has fine silk like hair , long neck, wedged shape head, no stop at bridge of nose she is twice proven DNA as 100% pure, no dog markers .
Arana arrived approximate age of 10 weeks , it took 4 years for her to willingly come for interaction , she remains very aloof timid, excruciatingly afraid of strange people .
agile and flexible.
Arana will remain slight .
she will not engage in aggressive interaction , self preserving , will only defend if her life is in danger.
Mirrhi domestic bred, Alpine, desert [Pilbara] cross
not as large as Alpine, bigger than desert , fur is thick, bone structure is bigger , yet she is neither desert nor alpine. shorter in body length .
confident enough to retaliate if taken for granted .
will initiate altercation and determine to eradicate .
Mirrhi and Arana were inseparable until Mirrhi decided Arana had to go .
Mirrhi also with intent attacked and caused serious wounds to Jedda. [ Jedda being her surrogate parent] point here , domestic breeding is creating damaged dingoes .
Mirrhi inherited the Alpine fur .
The question is why cross two totally different dingo groups ?. never would they breed due to their geographic differences .
Further you will see the difference between Nowra and Arana
Nowra is Pilbara wild born age 2.5 years .[Telfer ]
Nowra arrived at age 4 weeks , she remains aloof timid , she is larger than Arana has thicker fur.
very different in appearance to Kimberly Arana.
Nowra`s recent DNA has shown she is 100% pure, no dog markers
Due to ongoing culling in the area of where Nowra was found it was very doubtful she would be pure .
Since her arrival and due to an incident through human error , many were destroyed, perhaps she is one of the last of our pure Telfer dingo.
The Pilbara orphans, the subject of so much angst .
they are not emaciated as has been suggested and claimed,
they are regularly vet checked as recently as Saturday by well and highly regarded Vet whom treats animals in wild life parks and well educated on the dingo.
If well educated one would understand the difference between our desert dingo, Alpine [Eastern states ] tropical .
understanding each dingo is different depending on location and terrain .
Their DNA has adapted over thousands of years to suit their geographic location.
Arana is from Kununurra, 1500 klms to the north of where Nowra is from.
The Rudall River pups are 200 klms to the south of Nowra`s home.
Note the difference in Nowra compared to the Rudall River orphans .
Other photos displayed are of a elderly dingo rescued from pound on the day of pending euthanasia, the pictures show how her ears had been so neglected , in her 4 years with us she had 5 procedures on her ears .
Further to possible interest the following is DNA on Rudall River orphans [gratitude to professor Bill Ballard ]
DAKU 99.97%
APANI 99.98%
BALAN 100%pure [no dog markers]
As stated Nowra from telfa also pure at 100%[ no dog markers
All from same litter Daku , Apani, Balan ]would have been interesting to have the DNA from the 6 pups .
DNA was collected from 5 pups sent to Kylie Cairns,[we await the results.
In saying that since the arrival of the orphans [ now 6 months old ] over 350 dingoes have been culled in the precise area of the Rudall River pups [ again we may have the only remaining dingoes from that area
So my opinion for what it may be worth [naysayers included ]
Perhaps and during my involvement with Agriculture Protection board [ Bio Security ] and in-depth discussions during the 70s it may well be as was stated the pure dingo is gone and what we have is hybrids .
DNA not being available at that time.
Perhaps the Rudall River orphans parents were pure , but sadly from generations past the dog has reared its head .
which again proves a point of interest in my past comments I have stated “once the blood is tainted it remains tainted” , a drop of blood in a bucket of milk does no sink to the bottom it disperses.
The idea of putting a pure dingo over a hybrid producing pure dingo is ludicrous.
The belief hybrids are essential in the environment is again folly , further dilution of our dingo, with added issues .
Or is it a case of, all are hybrid , but will throw on chance a pure pup , he /she in turn will throw pure but at some time the dog will be noted .
Take into consideration the mind set of the Agriculture Board from the beginning was to eradicate the dingo as with the thylacine , dropping dogs in remote areas to” breed them out “go back over 200 years .perhaps they have won their war on our dingo .
Question to ask.. do you want hybrids [ perhaps too late to have a choice ] or do you want to save the possible pure wild dingo again perhaps to late.
So whilst one chooses to attack us here at Crossroads , your energy might be put to better use by attempting to eradicate the hybrid and back yard breeding, commercial breeding and dog like dingoes and make an attempt to save what we might by chance still have , Pure wild dingo , but as with a game of Russian roulette, might just have to take the chance of a pure and accept some where in his or her history will be dog .
Have we lost our dingo ?
