Crossroads Dingo Rescue

April 12, 2019 by Crossroads Dingo Rescue   No comments   Filed Under: Dingo Diary

I have a debacle ( for the want of a better description) that being magpies ( no no do not get me wrong) i simply love our Maggie’s

Approximately 3 weeks ago a very young bedraggled Maggie flew into my yard ( yep jedda dingo in close proximity)
However she was being attacked by the rough and tough back street kids ( large magpies beautiful white saddles across their back )
They were giving her a really hard time so much so she backed up under a bush to protect herself .
Now me being me felt this was not on , was she injured ? Was she out of her territory? So intense was the attack
I raced out yelling at These handsome bullies
Waving my arms whilst talking calmly to the sweet pea maggie .
The bullies flew off screaming a tyrant of abuse at me , a few tough enough to attempt to bypass my waving arms .

The wee intimidated maggie was now reaching out to me calling softly .
When she was safe I existed, she stayed ,
Without fear she followed me ( not a good idea )
Eventually having gained her strength she flew off , i could again hear the screeching of those back street boys and seriously worried for her safety
Over the next few days my worry increased and I believed she had been removed
Too my surprise she has reamurged , surprise surprise, she has brought a big handsome back street kid with her ( ahh i say so this was about fighting over the available princess magpie )
Appears the most handsome won .

Now the problem is this wee girl has taken a liking to me . she follows me around the paddocks comes asking for food has no fear of dingo jedda ( scary ) so to keep her safe i feed her and her mate behind the laundry .
Not wise I am aware . but she thinks she can argue with Jedda over who gets what out of dingo dinner ( am fearfull she will become dingo dinner )
Jedda pretends no interest . but if jedda thinks her mum is nieve she is so wrong

Today whilst running Arana in exercise yard . my sweet pea maggie is sitting on the cable reel . i tell her off and try to send her away
Nup she decides she is going to come over and say hello . needless to say miss Arana was quickly evacuated from the exercise yard

Just another to worry about
Her handsome mate sits on the fense and he sure does tell her off .
She follows me to the laundry and he is not far behind her and all the time jedda sits patiently
I have had a talk to Jedda , while, jedda smiles her sweet dingo smile, i know she is lying when she tells me ” iz wonts eats her ” hmm have to have a chat with sweet pea .
Jedda not your friend .
