Young Balan this morning
Has overcome his surgery and his eyes are all healed
The 3 wild kids are doing well
Growth spurt has slowed down
Daku is the larger of the 3
He the boss ( so he thinks)
Tall rangy .
Balan has not got the young teenage testosterone raging through him, ( since being sterilized) is calmer and gaining weight .

Crossroads Dingo Rescue
These late night power walks are becoming more intense with Django and Wally
Or perhaps I’m getting less able. ( age over fitness )
Yep Wally is still here .
unceremoniously delivered here Jan 2019) no prelude or request to his unorthodox delivery, no assistance as was promised for his care.
In truth my first thought was to retaliate ,I was insulted and incited due to past abuse, insult from those who saw fit to drop him here, and this totally infuriated me .
More so now particually due to the intention of those
responsible for his untimely delivery here, now planing to continue to breed their own backyard breeding programs.
As in any misguided cult like groups high on the need for attention , with out foresight to the consequences .
They do not acknowledge their culpability or responsibility.
Resulting in more like Wally and the 14 others in our care ,( not including our 6 wild born ).
Those bred by dilusional people believing they are saving the dingo and with out doubt many will be seeking relocation due to the laxity with education and information
However it is not the fault of these unfortunate animals bred by back yard breeders without care or integrity selling hybrid dingo ( dog ) as pure .( and or pure ) the result remains the same and they are culpable
As is now becoming more notable
Wally was ( is ).a difficult young male 15 months old , when he arrived, with a unlikable disposition, albeit understandable given his history of abuse and violence .( as I was informed ,and obvious by his behaviour)
Sold as pure dingo.
Unfortunately ,and contrary
to his acclaimed pedigree he is alpine dingo dog cross.
Which is in its self deceptive and in his case has not been to his benefit along with the abuse and his confused cross genetic breeding, and no doubt inbreeding , he is somewhat prone to become defensive ( unnecessarily) if he thinks one is looking at him the wrong way, he is alert and more than capable of retaliation .
Sad really because below the surface of this bravardo is a gentle boy terribly misunderstood and the result of human error.
People whom themselves have issues, transferring their dissatisfied lives, angst and selfish dependencies on to the animal in their care .
Bad enough a dog having to endue human selfishness, cruelty , far worse for our dingo ( our apex predator ?)
He now becomes an extension of that treatment resulting in him becoming his own worst enemy.
How many are prepared to take on a broken dingo ?
Very few as is the case with many here .
Am I to make the ultimate distasteful decission ,go through the emotional upheaval and further financial stress to euthanize ?
I don’t feel it is my right or my responsibility to take the life of an animal which is a product of human greed, selfishness and ego.
In saying all of the above please take into consideration
Feeding and care for 20 dingoes .
With one income .
Vacination
Sterilization
Flea control
Hessian beds $120 per fortnight ( a new bed lasts a day )
Water expenses due to sprinklers going all day to keep all cool ( in particular alpine )
Constant vet care ..ongoing account .
Raw meat $200 per week
Vegetables carrots broccoli, caulifower, sweet potatoes ,potatoes ,pumpkin
All vegetable plus fruit with the exception of cabbage .$50 pw
Rice $45 pw
Pasta $20 pw
Fish bass $20 pw
Tins of sardines ( to assist those with HIP dysplasia )$20 pw
( 3 large stock pots per week ( mixed veggies and meat combined
Collars
Leads
With the need of extra pens we are requiring
Posts ( 35 ×3meters high
Wire ..3 meters high
Yes I have foolishly taken on the responsibility of these animals , albeit it is very difficult to refuse to assist an animal at 10 pm at night with a distraught person
Harder still when the animal is threatened with being taken out and shot
Difficult it is when we state we can’t help, to then get abuse .
We are not government funded, we do not receive grants .
We are appreciative of the assistance we have had.
Unfortunately we at times think we have enough in the kitty to buy material for new pens .
Again unfortunately we are then hit with a sick dingo requiring most of proceeds going towards vet accounts, ( currently Ballan is receiving treatment for severe eye infection ) extra food , other necessities when caring for a large number of dingoes .
This is what we deal with daily .

Crossroads Dingo Rescue
Our Bonnie has not been herself since Jedda passed. She was concerned when Jed was unwell, they were good friends ,Bonnie being the only one Jedda had respect for.
When Jedda visited the vet on her final day ,Bonnie sat waiting at the car for Jedda to get out .
She continued to keep going to the car for over a week .
I didn’t tell Bonnie Jed had passed , we didn’t let her see her deceased friend , of course she knew, as dogs do .
We buried Jedda in the front garden and planted a rose for her , again we did not tell Bonnie, we did not show Bonnie the final resting place of Jedda, so it was with sadness, when I noticed Bonnie laying next to the rose we planted to mark Jedda’s resting place.
During the last few weeks, Bonnie appears to have night time anxiety, panic attacks .
She paces all night ,constantly attempting to awaken me , which isn’t hard as I too am inclined to pace during the night .
I’m unsure if Bonnie has a sixth sense of pending doom ,or if she is just feeling insecure ,she understands death as she has comforted many a dingo during their illness prior to their passing .
Bonnie has had a few hurdles in the last couple of years , loosing her leg last year ,and the loss of a Genna and bindi, I feel the loss of Jedda has unsettled her .

Crossroads Dingo Rescue
We have lived with our new mum for over a year ,we were unsure and insecure cos we had been in the pound for quite some time and our time was running out.
because of our timidness and our fear of unfamiliar places , and our before house was not so nice ,our mum gave us time to adapt , she laughs at us cos we took a whole year to understand we are loved and feel safe , she would tell us stories of other dingoes who have taken up to 2 years and more to trust their new human parents .
she tells us people dont understand us and expect us to be obedient and calm, people dont understand we are unique ,we have to be respected and accepted for what we are , cos we are free kids, cos we are not dogs ,dogs have to have human mums , but we dont cos we are the wild children of Australia .
Mum says we need special people cos we are special needs kids , gentle people who will care for us and respect us without expectation of us acting like dogs .
we will take time to trust you and we will be unsure and aloof ,but when we feel safe and trust you we can be a good friend
If you have patience and understanding we could like you and be happy with you , are you that person?
