We are givig a special thankss to Neville and his boss, Jason, from The Real Pet Food Company, for their very generous donations of dog food. We managed a perfectly even distribution to 4 other dog rescues in the Perth and Mandurah areas.

Dingo Diary
Give me a pat on the back and tell me how damn good I am ,
Give me a pat on the back and tell me how damn good I am , and I will say ” yep I know ” not because I think I’m bloody so cool but because I am good at what I do , mind you there’s not much I’m good at but I know dingoes.
I have been so stressed worrying about my pilbara boy , his nose so sore so red so really damaged , he just keeps fighting sticking his head through the gate , the section where you put your hand , and I’ve been trying to figure out how the hell do I stop this , he hates Lobo, he hates Ceasar, he hates karulundi ,well hell he hates them all so , he just keeps on keeping on .
Pilbara is our boy from the pilbara a handsome specimen of pure pilbara dingo , his DNA absolute pure ,
He arrived some 3 and a half years ago so tiny so sick so almost dead . Not much hope was there of his survival , his brother died prior to having a chance.
So we I nursed him set up an ICU in a bedroom, I moved in with him and made sure he didnt die .
However no matter how young they are , they still mature and then they are in their prime of dingo
Pilbara managed some how to get his collar off , I had no chance on putting a collar back on him , and you may well say ,” but you reared him ” I did indeed . One very loved boy ,
but now he is an adult he is in his prime and only the very foolish would think they are now able to do what they like ,pull push demand , no not I, I have the utmost respect for him, I ask I never take ,
Any way keep digressing, his nose , unable to treat wash or apply ointment.
Today I decided to tear up an old bath towel and have wrapped it around the section of gate I believe to be the problem area , I then grabbed two leads , one with a choker chain the other a red collar one that gives you control but not a danger to the dingo ( one hopes )
i sat for 2 hours talking and attempting to slip the chain over his head , no way he says , I had pellets in my pocket and started to bribe him , now he is getting suspicious, will he bite me , Yes … he will if he thinks for a minute I would take advantage of our friendship , I don’t want to put him in that situation , the need to defend or feel threatened .
So I sat , and talked and can you believe I managed to slip that choker over his head , now he is like a wild pony , jumping around yelling at me , I tell him to calm and indicate we are going for a walk ,
We go for a walk around the paddock, he walks I go with him , letting him have his lead , I stop I rub his back I give him hugs ( approved of ) then I show him rhe collar , oh right now he tells me I’m taking advantage of his compliance, no way I say , but we need to walk ,you need a collar .
I then put the collar over his muzzle , lol he now truly thinks I’ve gone to far , all good pilbara such a good boy , yayy got his collar on ,so then we go back to his pen , he is nice and calm , I have some control and I manage to spray his nose .
So there you go, I did succeed , good manners may be a heaven sent virtue, but patience is a gift from the gods, Pilbara and me are back on track no hurt feelings , no need to show aggression and no required macho crap . We work together .
Today was and remains a mongrel ,
Today was and remains a mongrel , started with a recently acquired short bill corella young girl talks and just making friends with odie one of my birds
I had to go to stock feed short trip , one of my rare social outings , vet doctor or stock feed
I return home to find this new addition has flown the coop, litterally, feeling bad because she had been entrusted to me and a much loved family had her , however due to circumstances she came here , I promised faithfully she would be safe , I understood her wing was cut and I believed her cage safe ,obviously not so to both counts .
I started calling her and was pleased to hear her answering, I go and try to find where she is , oh yeah she is out the front in one of the high conifers , I drag her cage around and start talking ,
she wants to come down .
Not going to happen can’t find a ladder to reach her so I decide in my old age wisdom to climb this bloody tree , reach up grab a branch all good , it creaks a bit , I pull myself up and stand on the fence , not close enough so I unsteadily step on the not so strong branch and go up higher ( I hate heights )
Slowly I climb up talking to this bloody bird, telling her she’s a good girl, not dareing to look down , I don’t care if it’s I meter or 10 bloody meters it’s high from where I am
She actually decides to meet me half way , she’s now close enough to grab , yeah right need to think very carefully and I didn’t, I grab this bird, she grabs my finger between the first and second joint , deep breath , don’t for God sake let go I use this as a mantra , don’t let go don’t let go , while she now is through to the bone can actually feel the bone creak ,I start to climb down with this thing on my finger , the pain is making me sweat , the last 2 meter , I can do this , she let’s go , whew that hurt , before I could finish that thought she has my bloody arm omg , do I want to ring her neck , bite down hard endure, I managed to get her off my arm, tried to use my shirt to cover her , and she’s got that damn finger again, by now I figure I’m going to loose this finger .
I jump the last 2 meters , still got the bird , the bird still has my finger , again I manage to free my hand , blood covering her and me , attempt to put her in the cage , I swear she got that frigging finger again , now the pain has hit a new high, I keep fighting to get her back she keeps ripping my finger , ya know what enough… I let go she let’s go and she has gone again .
She’s out there answeres when I call, but can only do what you can do , 2 hours and a very swollen finger pieces missing , can’t bend it . Big sigh . Maybe tomorrow
So it thought the day couldn’t get any worse , Pindan bouncing all over the house , Nowra having her own party jumping in and out of her crate ,
Burra bitching Mirrhi and arana squabbling, jedda in a bitch mood ,.
Screaming in the pens , ffs what now , I mean screaming , Brahmani is screeching Jack’s growling pilbara is attempting to pull the bloody pen apart , omg , I race out down the security, shit I think , it’s a snake she has a snake in her pen , I run in Brahmani is frothing she’s so hyped up she’s spitting chips , that bloody goanna managed to get in her pen , she is going to kill this thing no matter what , no I scream come away , not likely,
I grab her collar , foolish don’t grab collars , she grabs me , she’s so wild she says don’t touch me i m going to kill this thing , I’m yelling at her to leave it , no way , she bites my hand , I grab her bed and throw it over the Bob tail , I’m abusing this thing , how many times do i have to rescue you bloody critters .the damn thing is giving Brahmani a run for her money, certainly holding her off
My Finger and now hand is killing me , bonnie trying to wrangle this bloody bob tail ( blue tongue )
i manage to pushed him / her through the fence with a stick Brahmani is swearing at me jack is glaring at me .
I go back out side , now I’m fighting with this reptile , I have to again move him or her or is it even the same one? , bonnie on one side the dingoes watching, all alert hoping I might slip up , big sigh I managed to pick it up gave it a hug , took it back away from pens, put it back way over in the paddock .
Now I’m very energetic adrenaline running high , I decide rake , clean pens settle the dingoes .
Pilbara has a bad nose again swollen and red , he won’t let me near it , he it’s on antibiotics ,but I have to bite the bullet and fight with him to sort it , he keeps fighting with karulundi and damages his nose , I go into his pen, tell him we have to come to an agreement , I turn and he swipes a bite from my butt .
Sweet mother , Pilbara ,I yell what the hell , nup he comes back for another go , this time I’m ready , I move he keeps going then I go and sit on his bed tell him to settle , he calms down we are still friends , figure I’m going to have to sedate him some how to get him to a vet.
Hmm now that will be real interesting
So that so far is my day , not over yet , i can hear that damn bird , finger arm hand and butt is sore aching stinging , not to mention recently rebuilt shoulder , think I’m to bloody old for this crap
Dingo Diary
All this power struggle over who sleeps where and bonnie being bullied by feral jedda .
In my wisdom i decide to sort the problem .
bonnie has her bed on the floor. jedda sleeps with me but then decides she want bonnies bed . so yesterday another lounge bites the dust and i keep 2 cushions . wash them and put fresh covers and a comfy blanket , there you go no need to fight over beds . nup didnt work this morning both jedda and bonnie head to tail on the floor .
So i figure jedda wouldn’t let bonnie on a bed , to make sure of that she lays near both beds on the floor , happy to give up her comfort but not permitting bonnie to have comfort , dingo logic .
Dingo Diary
Over the last week i have picked up and relocated . 6 bobtails, but im not sure if its many or one.
Yesterday bindi had once again attempted to demolish her fence and jack was urging her on, so much excitment and frenzied behavior , im running around trying to find the source of all this . and there you go one bob tail with a death wish .i spent the next hour trying to wrangle this reptile away from bindi’s pen.
This bob tail was really hyped up , seldom do I see a angry bobby , he was spitting , too bad, have to get him away from pens
Buggar me today same one ( well i assume its the same one ) he’s back up under the verandah.strewth he is very angry, whats with this anger ?
Any way same one or not ,6 times i have moved him on from paddock to paddock , ok advice here , what is this critter looking for and why is he so cross and if he doesn’t keep away from dingoes he wont have to be angry with me moving him, he will be a dead bob tail .
Dingo Diary
When nowra arrived she had her koala and the koala had her baby .
miss nowra had wet both , i washed them and lost them today i found madam koala and scooby doo , gave them to nowra , she so funny grabbed her koala like a long lost friend now she is curled up asleep .
Our dingo has attatchments to the most mundane things .
Sad so many see our dingo as just an instinctive killing machine not realising how they grieve for a lost mate and bond to simple things thst give them comfort
