Crossroads Dingo Rescue
We seriously had a water issue. Thankfully we have really good people ( neighbours)
Our neighbour (at the back of us ) surprised me by bringing his tractor over , he manoeuvred a huge sand dirt bar around the pens, diverting the water from pens and house
(Unfortunately his tractor is now bogged up to the axels, )
Over the 34 years here we have had some scary moments ( but surprisingly been saved when least expected .
A huge fire came through every one was convinced all was lost , pens had to be opened ( at that time we had roos, emus, aviaries of birds,
Dingoes .
There was no time and no way to remove any thing
The fire brigade opened all pens and did such an amazing job, but were convinced all would be lost
The house was vibrating with the heat ( ceda house all wood )
The strangest thing was the fire whilst as high as the highest trees and coming straight at us ,surrounding us diverted in a split second .
Burned the back and both sides of the property ( it was the weirdest thing )
One could only describe it as the fire split .
A few months later a massive storm hit , that sounded like a freight train rumbling through , strange again , it split and went both sides of the house, tore out hundred year old trees, uplifting them like match sticks ,ripped out fencing.
The place resembled the aftermath of a tsunami
Still it avoided the house .
With regards to the fire, to this day many still shake their heads at the sight of this massive fire ,the sureity of total destruction yet that fire split .
No animals were harmed , no animal would leave his or her pen, two corellas took flight only to return a few days later
I still today wonder how on earth this place has managed to be kept safe .
The older gentleman who lived next door at the time of the fire would always shake his head ,” not sure what saved your place that day but it sure wasn’t anything that can be explained, I recon your ghosts had a hand in that ” .
True words . He said he was helpless to help and was convinced as were all ( police, fireies and others )
No saving this , yet here we are .
