Our Bonnie continues to fight like the trouper she is, refusing to give in
We assist her when she staggers and carry her when she falls , she is monitored by vet, and pain relief is administered constantly
She has really bad days and not so bad days
She has beds in most rooms ,her choice where she decides to go or wishes to go,she likes to be close to Burra and as is her nature to be close to dingoes .( albeit not where they can hurt her )
A beautiful gesture by Maria Ibbotson .
Who purchased a trolly for her , ( thank you )
We were required to remodel as it was a bit short for Bonnie , changing the wheels to increase height. unfortunately Bonnie doesn’t have the shoulder strength or balance ( at this time )
Bonnie has nerve impingement in her neck due to disc bulging and calcification, this is causing a degree of paralysis ,her meds assist in reducing swelling, inflammation and pain .
she had a cortisone injection Wednesday, it was the first time in a long time she smiled and got up unassisted ,sadly the positive was short lived .
Bonnie’s attitude remains positive ,infact her mentality is that of a much younger girl
We know if it wasn’t for her neck she would be gifted with many more years .( as would we )
She has a ramp. She uses this as it doesn’t jar her neck when decending , to attempt the steps causes her discomfort .
Surgery is an option ,expensive with no guarantee.
However we keep her comfortable .
Bonnie managed to go out side this morning (toilet ) we monitor and supervise constantly ( she is never unattended )
until such times as she indicates she is ready to leave we will continue .
