Crossroads Dingo Rescue

October 27, 2020 by sds_admin   No comments   Filed Under: Dingo Diary

Have just completed the last rotation .
Always hectic, more so as Ceasar has bitten through Brahmani’s ear .
A nasty tear , they fight constantly .
So much aggression between them ( male v female )
Trying to work some way of separation ( they are in separate pens but next to each other ) by swapping mulga with brahmani or jack .
Unfortunately I had put lobo next to Jack, to cease the on going disgruntlement between lobo and ceasar I had hoped by putting a female next to Ceasar there would be less aggression .
Failed miserably on that decision

I have started Brahmani on antibiotics
But as is common with our dingo she is not overly compliant when it comes to cleaning and tending to this wound ,to make matters worse her dislike and anger towards Cease has increased 10 fold .

We try to place them where there is tolerance with their neighbour.
Pilbara too often fights with karulundi , usually the situation is manageable .
Jack and lobo have an amicable tolerance towards each other , mulga is very good with Brahmani , as long as she doesn’t annoy him .

Pilbara’s nose has flared up again so he too is on meds
Pindan has a collar. intolerance ,( collar rash, so no collar ) to add further to Pindans irritation is the fact he and Mirrhi fight constantly
Very rarely they have a cease fire.
Not to mention daku and Pindans dislike of each other .

Needless to say I’m busy with supervising, and attempting to resolve constant arguing and fighting .
Whilst cleaning pens and rotating inside kids, they too hate each other .
Including the young siblings. maliki is not sure she likes her brother.

All require a good brush, now loosing their winter coat, I can never find enough hours in the day .

With the hot weather coming in all have their pools and sprinklers on daily .
In the mean time I have to work out a more peaceful arrangement between them all .

Still they are alive healthy and relatively happy when not hating on each other, I guess its better than the alternative had they ( the domestic bred ) been left in pounds, or in the hands of previous abusers.

Crossroads Dingo Rescue

This was Shyla , she’s lovely isn’t she ?
She is dead , she was a rescue from a breeding farm.
120 dingoes on 3 acres
Later reduced to 60 ( deceased)
The breeder died, and of the remaining 60 all were destroyed but 6 ( those 6 went to another breeder )
5 of the six were later shot ( couldn’t get near them )
Shyla was the only one we could save , but even her we could not save , 6 weeks for her to trust, a further 12 months of constant vets and exploratory to find her health issues .
She was 4 years old , her health issues were as a result of immunity failing due to lack of nutrition, care and over all neglect.
She had to be euthanised due to on going suffering

They breed they claim for preservation, conservation .

Of 160 dingoes none remained alive , many pups sold prior were destroyed
Yet this breeder is today held in high esteem .
As are many back yard and commercial breeders
Not one takes responsibility not one is held accountable
No one is taken to task for neglect, cruelty or for the condition many are in upon arrival here .
Do your research before purchasing a dingo .
Realise you are financing a brutal trade .
The dingo is a predator he is not a pet
Don’t kick us in the guts for attempting to clean up your mess .
Many are misinformed on the domestic bred dingo .
Less informed on wild born .

The fad today is the profit margin on wild born pups .
The assumed status of having a wild born .
Bored are they with domestic bred .
The deception of stating a dog is a dingo , with the uninformed ignorant thinking how cute that dog is and then invest in a dingo without any knowledge of the suffering that animal goes through and the usual out come is death for the dingo .
Stop promoting dingoes as pets .
Stop the now sales of many pups pilfered from dens
Stop the deception of believing you can tame a wild born dingo .
Start realising our wild dingo is an asset to the environment, work at protecting him , be a voice to cease the senseless slaughter of a much maligned animal .

This is our boy Balan, in the exercise yard this morning. Ann is on the other side of the gate and he decided that he wanted to say hello. Ann is 5ft4. The gate is 6ft5. The inward part of the fence is 4ft leaning in. And this my friends, is why you need high, escape proof fencing.
