I now understand why some people hate Monday, if something is to go wrong it usually occurs on a Monday.

Thankfully Warren was here assisting in diverting a catastrophe.
It could have been an interesting debacle had I been here alone( which is normally the case)

Whilst supervising the youngsters in the exercise yard , a hell of a commotion was taking place.
I turn in time to see not one but two dingoes racing up to the fense ,for a split second I stand in shock and surprise, “surely someone hasn’t dropped two dingoes here unbeknownst to me . (wouldn’t be the first time )
Then getting past the shock and surprise I recognise the familiar faces of Woody and Luna .

First thought is what to do? impossible to open the gate and let them in while two tearaway are running amoke.
Luna has the familiar look of grab and shake ,not going to be safe for the young ones .
I attempt to not panic , which without doubt will create a flight response.
I walk calmly, talk quietly and slowly approach.
Woody comes to me , Luna looks and decides I am her friend .
Permits me to take her collar as does Woody .

Now what? two running around in the yard stressed due being left alone , two I have in a death hold ( no way was I going to let go )
Its hard work trying to yell quietly while holding two dingoes ,not wanting to cause undue stress .

Warren approaches and Luna has a strong reluctance to men, she starts backing away, all normal dingo dont come near me attitude, a lead is thrown and I’m now on the ground talking to Luna, such a good girl.
Managed to get the lead on her , leaning over to now secure Woody .
Both are now smiling , with a “guess what, we gets out, had a run, n really wanted to fight every dingo they met on this flight path to where mum was .
All good calm has once again decended .
We then check their escape route ,a neat round hole has been chewed in the ringlock wire barely big enough for a large cat .
“No problem” these two say,” “waz easy mum, we jus wanted to play with you ”
” But we doesn’t like them others”.

So we now are reinforcing the cyclone ,and the million other things that require doing will just have to again be put on hold.

I had some how managed to twist my knee a couple of weeks ago, it is truly excruciatingly painful .
Having attended a doctor it appears I have either torn a ligament or a tendon ( waiting for xray results and to have ultrasound )
Doesn’t matter its damn painful and the knee is not accomadating.
Didn’t help when attempting to prepare for quick flight should two dingoes decide to go AWAL

Anyway no disastrous out come , both were very good ( I’m proud of them considering it took over a year for both to accept and trust)
I am convinced trust is essential when caring for dingoes , more important when taking on those with a previous history ( twice in the pound ) a history of unsavoury people not caring for them .
Makes it difficult for them to trust, more difficult due to so many upsets and past trauma.

Well that was my Monday
Peace now reigns, every one happy and settled .

We recieved a message last night from a person who is having problems with a dingo purchased from another rescue .

While we are more than willing to assist ,we were unable reply to what we believe and was implied was an urgent call for assistance .

Hopefully the issue was resolved .
But, we point out here, the author of the message recieved advice from us in 2017 .

Further it is the responsibility of rescues who supply dingoes ( dingo hybrids ) to ensure the dingo is homed in an educated and experienced enviroment .

On many occasions we have been requested to take, care for , assist with dingoes sent from over East .
It is not our responsibility.
The onus is on the supplier to have the animal returned or and to give step by step advice on management

showing a turn over does not nessitate a successful rehome .

We once again encourage those with a desire to live with dingoes to do your research .

Coexisting with a domestic bred dingo can be extremely difficult , times that by 10 when choosing to live with a wild born .

There are so many variables. The dingo is an extremely complex animal, any attempt to force obedience and compliance can be to the detriment of both the dingo and handler .

We reiterate we hope the author of the message has found a solution or been assisted with the obvious notable distress .

My friend has more faith in my abilities than I.
This will be a rebuild not a repair ..

Just finished cleaning pens
New beds .
Easier when not so hot , dingoes all relaxed and happy .

Brahmani’s ear has healed amazingly.
Ceasar tore her ear a couple of months back . Very nasty tear
However brahmani permitted every day cleaning and application of ointments plus antibiotics .
Just a slight scare tissue remains .
Damage now done with regards to Ceasar, she hates him with a vengeance, not going to forget the pain he inflicted .
All normal here .

We seriously need to reinforce Pilbara’s pen
Watched him today get his nose stuck whilst arguing with karulundi
Hence his continually sore nose
Same with Bo , keeps sharing and pulling blankets between jack .
Guessing it puts paid to the “its a grain issue”
And this comment alone should give the fanatics rise .

Watching MAFS , mering has avid interest .
