Crossroads Dingo Rescue

October 13, 2018 by Crossroads Dingo Rescue   No comments   Filed Under: Dingo Diary

It been a hectic few days .
Miss Arana flew over the lounge skinning my arm in passing
Tuesday i became aware of the strong possibility of a snake
Wednesday another awfull day , running back and forth with Nowra and arana trying very hard to transition them from inside to out side , big sigh .. They diesnt wantz to go out side ( they tell me )
Thursday jedda being the feral difficult child , refused to go out side , she just runs and ducks and dives, big game for her , she eventually relented , and Id just taken her out , with bonnie close at heel
I bent and turned and was almost face to face with a very large snake ( dugite) .
Oh yeah heart went up a notch, jedda froze , bonnie being bonnie ..”huh wats wrong ”
I did look at this snake half curled up under the table other half alert and watching , so i calmly say , “hey there what you doing here ”
Grab jedda litterally throw her back inside, close behind is bonnie , with a look of confusion
I race back out , snake now is looking at me , then he slowly raises his head and glides away
I attempt looking for snake . i can feel him but cant find him , i proceed to lecture bonnie on the danger of snakes, shes all about ” butts ” but mum , hmm problem is she helps me wrangle bob tails ( shingle back goanna)
So i figure she has difficulty in differentiating goanna from snake, albeit the snake has a signature scent .
From that bit of excitment , all had calmed down , took jedda out went to turn around , and she has gone .
Could not believe it .
Im trying to get 18 dinner bowls ready and jedda does a runner
Im to old for this shit me thinks , as im running at great ( elderly ) speed chasing this mongrel dingo , oh shes laughing . up hill down dale behind sheds harassing all and sundry
With me close on her tail screaming like a banshee , jedda racing . around and around , with me trying to assess her next move , over stream I jump clear logs and climb through fenses , to no avail ( by now i hate her )
I run back grab a dish of food . “come girl dinner time ,”
i put the dish down jedda runs past bonnie eats the dinner .
I grab another bowl and each time jedda runs up runs away bonnie eats
Bonnie got to eat four dinners
Jedda has an insatiable hatred for her kind
In particular, karulundi and brahmani . “i wantz dem all gone ”
She races up the security path , im close behind on her tail . every time i attempt to grab she swings around and swears while she bites
( such a bitch )
Jedda cuts in front now intent on pulling brahmani through the fense . i run ahead and secure gate ..oops other end is open run back jump over her ( had to hope karulundi can protect her self now that jedda lost interest in brahmani)
I manage to close other end . in the mean time every one is screaming up a storm . like they got bets on who would win and too what they would do to jedda , if only ..
Oh yes i caught that feral after and hour and more of running , got a few teeth grazes but all good
Now if you offered me 500 dollars to sprint 200 meter out the gate i would tell you what you could do ( as financially desperate as i may be i aint sprinting any where nor can i .. Untill a dingo gets out and its any ones game , i can sprint jump run no effort .
Mind you took a few days to calm down
But here we are kept to bay by neurotic dingoes inside .
snakes sentries out side and bloody huge wolf spiders and huntsman spiders sliding off walls to ride on my shoulder as i step from bathroom . or they sit above the bed
Well i guess a rather lengthy dialogue of just this weeks excitment .
Hope every one has a great weekend whilst i sit and ponder the madness of my life
